Science for Everybody: Modelling Light to Manipulate Electrons

Wednesday, 20 September, 2017

Prof. Dr. Peter Hommelhoff (Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg / Max-Planck-Institute for the Physics of Light)

20. September 2017 at 7 PM (Tickets are available at the box office from 6 PM; Admission 3 €)

Venue: Ehrensaal des Deutschen Museums, Museumsinsel 1, München

The lectures given under the general title “Science for Everyone” at the Deutsches Museum are intended for a general audience, and provide fascinating insights into modern research trends in physics. In his contribution to the series, Prof. Peter Hommelhoff will give an overview of his current research. Hommelhoff explores methods for the shaping and control of laser light pulses for specific purposes. His talk will cover issues ranging from the fundamentals of light-matter interactions to practical applications of interdisciplinary research in photonics and nanotechnology.
