Examples for dispersive UV-VIS-IR coatings

Such optics can be made on base of metal or dielectric coatings covering a spectral range 200-3000 nm. Both options are possible with Helios and Syrus machines. Below one can find four examples of high-quality multilayer mirrors produced with Helios and Syrus. The examples can be considered as a guide for MAP researchers.


1) UBCM (ultrabroad chirped mirror)

A complementary pair of 1.5-octave UBCMs for the spectral range 400-1200 nm (picture 1). Such a pair supports sub-3-fs pulses. GDD at 800 nm is -20 fs2, average reflectivity 98 %.

A complementary pair of 1.5-octave UBCMs for the spectral range 300-900 nm (picture 2). Such a pair supports sub-3-fs pulses. GDD at 800 nm is -15 fs2, average reflectivity 93 %.

2) HDM (high-dispersive mirror)

HDM can be used as a replacement in a prism compressor making it compact. HDM provides dispersion -1300 fs2 in the range 770-830 nm, the reflectivity >99,9 % in all the spectral range.

3. LCO (a mirror with low spectral dispersion oscillations)

LCO was designed for experiments in an enhancement cavity and for high-energy Ti:Sa oscillator. It provides GDD -32 fs2 at 800 nm in a spectral range 770-830 nm with reflectivity >99,99 %.

4. TOD (a dispersive mirror with a third-order dispersion)

TOD provides +600 fs3 at 800 nm. Spectral range: 670-1030 nm, average reflectivity >99,8 %.

Examples for dispersive optics (CM) for Ti:Sa laser systems:

  • Broadband CM with the main level of GDD about -30 - -50 fs2, reflectivity >99 % in the range 400-1200 nm; CM for the range 300-900 with the reflectivity >95 % and dispersion -10 fs2 at 800 nm
  • Broadband CM with transmission at a certain wavelength (for example, 532 nm or 515 nm)
  • CM with high dispersion -200 - 300 fs2 in the wavelength range 720-860 nm with reflectivity >99.8 %
  • Beam splitter 50/50 % (or any other ratio) with controlled dispersion for transmitted and reflected beams in the wavelength range 450 – 1200 nm
  • Extremely high dispersive CM for a “long cavity oscillator” with main value of GDD about -1300 fs2 in the wavelength range 770 – 830 nm
  • CM with low dispersion oscillations (in design less than 0.5 fs2 and in realization less than 2 fs2 (rms)) in the wavelength range 770-830 nm, with reflectivity >99.99 %
  • High-TOD CM with TOD -600 fs3 in the wavelength range 600-1100 nm with reflectivity >99 %; mirrors have diameter up to 100 mm, and thickness up to 25 mm

Dispersive optics (for Yb:YAG oscillators) at 1030 nm:

High-dispersive CM with main GDD values about -200, -800, -2000, -2500, -10000 fs2 with reflectivity >99.9 %.

Other Optics:

  • AR coating in broadband range 400-1200 nm with reflectivity <0.3 % from the one surface
  • High reflection coating with reflectivity >99.99 %
  • Narrowband, band, edge filters
  • Low temperature high reflection mirror with reflectivity >99.99 %
