The main goal of MAP’s outreach activities is to anchor laser technology in particular and science in general along with their importance for Germany’s future in public awareness. The target of these activities is most inhomogeneous, ranging from representatives of business and academia, through pupils and students, to interested laypersons, journalists, and politicians. We have developed a range of activities to meet the desire of as a large fraction of this disparate audience as possible by active participation of MAP in ‘Open Door’ and ‘Science Night’ Öffnet internen Link im aktuellen Fensterevents of the Öffnet externen Link in neuem FensterGarching Research Campus, in international trade fairs such as ‘World of Photonics’ and ‘Wissenswerte’, by organization of public talks of MAP-scientists, including lectures in famous Evening Lectures to Everyone in the Öffnet externen Link in neuem FensterGerman Museum at Munich, lab visits organized for students and pupils from all over Europe, composition of a photo exhibition, and a series of activities specially designed for the needs of high school students and teachers, which forms a program in its own right: MAP’s high school outreach Öffnet internen Link im aktuellen Fensterprogram. Of course, MAP also delivers Öffnet internen Link im aktuellen Fensterpress releases for certain reasons, awards for MAP scientists or very important Öffnet internen Link im aktuellen Fensterpublications.
