Last stop for the Laser light - September 2017

CALA’s core machinery is now taking shape. The first of the vacuum chambers have now been installed in its experimental stations (informally known as ‘caves’) and linked to the Laser Beam Delivery (LBD) unit (seen at the bottom right in the photo). With a diameter of 30 cm, the LBD’s vacuum line serves to convey the beam emitted by the source laser to the appropriate experimental station.
